On Emma's 12th birthday my parents picked her up to take her on a SURPRISE birthday date.
Emma was miserable in anticipation... and kept begging me to tell her the secret location. ha ha. But I wouldn't tell her.
Her grandpa came to get her....
.... and my parents took just Emma to the CIRCUS!
An old fashion traditional Italian Circus came to Chandler.

What a fun surprise date... she never would have guessed.
My mom randomly gets obsessed with bizarre things. She was SO excited to go to an old fashioned Circus like in the old days. The next day when I visited my parents, my mom told me every detail about the circus for 2 hours, about every routine, their facial expressions, the family that runs it and their circus history, how they take care of the tent, etc... then made me watch the video she bought about their circus.
Emma said she LOVED it... but not as much as grandma did. ha ha.
