Looking Out

The Walk Deck

As we looked forward to the cruise and all the recreation advertised aboard... I did not anticipate just how amazing it would be to be with my kids on a ship in the middle of the ocean. Every day we went to the walk deck and just stared out in to the ocean for miles. It was such a cool experience to have together. We talked about the pioneers and pilgrims and how crazy it was to be traveling the ocean like them, but in such luxury. It was so cool to stare out at the ocean. One night we saw this big school of fish and some kind of big jelly fish or huge ray looking things with spots. We saw tons of them, but only because we watched the ocean closely for a long time and we screamed and pointed at each one that barely came out of the water. It was fascinating. We kept telling everyone who walked by, nobody seemed to care as much as us though. (Every day during waking hours it was fascinating to be on the ocean, every night when I was trying to go to sleep amidst all the rocking and creaking, it freaked me out).
